J1 has an added 1M resistor which is common in most amps and has to do with setting input impedance. If you're interested, here's the original schematic, and I'll go through changes left to right (input to output): Yeah without the extra switches then the only things that could be in there would be the other small parts - but like you said small chance of that.

The light was better there but it is staying on the floor (just to stay ahead of the gcj folks!) I just kinda thought it was a cool opportunity to get one of the last affordable vintage tube amps from a “name” company - especially at a pretty desirable configuration (12watts with a 1x12) for my needs.Įdit: in case you’re wondering, The seller was near my company’s office where I had to go to pick up a vehicle this morning for an out of town field project, hence the odd hotel bed setting.

It’s the 6aq5 version, has had a big ol’ Jensen c12k added, obviously has a jury rigged grill cloth, and may have been modded at some point by Hardway Vintage Electronics (there is a schematic for a modified circuit among some papers in the bottom of the cab, but I can’t read schematics, so I’m not sure what the mods would be). Both guitarists have some pretty sweet gear of their own (like the gibson maestro and matchless lightning I posted from our gig the other night), but I’ve been thinking about adding a second amp to go with the monoprice 15w tube amp I already have (both of them LOVE that thing btw) and this one came up in the lower range of what I see them going for. I’m a drummer, but as I’ve posted before, I noodle a bit on guitar, and our band uses my shed for practice.

If you decide, whether suggested to you here or not, to open your amp and tinker with it, PLEASE BE CAREFUL, and learn how to do so safely. Tubes amps make use of very high voltages! These voltages can kill you dead. Whether you're a toob noob or Leo Fender reincarnated, you're welcome here. Welcome to r/ToobAmps - A place to discuss that sweet tube tone.
